What is the LichterZauber?

LichterZauber (“light magic”) is Lenggries' own Advent market – not a big commercial Christmas fair, but a festival the village puts on itself. Around the Lenggrieser Scheib'n, the shopping area in the village centre, illuminated stars light up the streets, Christmas music plays and many shops stay open into the evening. Regional makers and local clubs sell crafts, homemade goods and creative gifts – perfect for a small souvenir of your holiday.

According to the organisers, the fire brigade, mountain rescue and water rescue services of Lenggries take part, along with the local library, several kindergartens and inns, bakeries, craftspeople and shops from the village. The festival is organised by Isar Alpental Regionsmarketing e.V.

Host tip: Arrive in the late afternoon. You'll catch St Nicholas while it's still light and can stay until dark, when the stars over the village really come into their own.
